Ozaukee Economic Development and the Doig Corporation are partnering together with five local area chambers from Mequon-Thiensville, Cedarburg, Grafton, Saukville, and Belgium to host fantastic event that you won’t want to miss. The theme for this event highlighting some of the different ways that businesses in Ozaukee County are adapting their hiring practices to increase employment within often forgotten populations.
While unemployment rates have continued to shrink in Ozaukee County, there is still significantly large groups that often times are overlooked, or businesses simply don’t know what traits to look for in candidates that have specific backgrounds and needs to secure long term positions that foster growth. That is why we will be hosting this event with speakers from multiple organizations to highlight working with potential workforce in populations including youth, differently abled adults, former retirees, and formerly incarcerated individuals.
We at OED feel that these groups deserve equal opportunities and this event will not only provide insight into what these groups need to be successful, it is also a great networking event that gives businesses an opportunity to meet and greet each other and share their practices within the community.
Tickets are required to attend this event and registration information can be found HERE. Cost for registration is $25 for OED or Local Chamber of Commerce members and $30 for Non-Members. The event will be held at the Pavilion at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds on March 10th at 11:45am-1:30pm. Deadline to register is March 2nd.
